Performance management

Length of the school day

Planning - advice and protection

Current demands and expectations for planning contribute to teachers’ excessive workload. The Teacher Workload Study found that planning and preparation was the second highest workload burden for teachers. See full document (47K).

Flexible Working

The NUT response to the DTI consultation on flexible working urged the Government to legislate for a statutory right to work flexibly or to work reduced hours. However, the legislation provides only for a right to 'request' flexible working. See full document (113K).
