Members in Somerset may be referred to the Regional Office by local NUT officers or, if local officers are not available, you may contact the office by phone between 9am and 5pm (Monday to Friday). However, we prefer you to write or
e-mail. This ensures that you can give us complete details and we can give a considered response (as we may need to seek further information or advice).

Advice on writing to the Regional Office about a problem is given here but before you make contact for routine advice please check if your query is answered on the NUT national website.
The Regional Staff
The Regional Office staff of twelve includes personnel who undertake casework for members. Members are allocated to the appropriate local or regional caseworker depending on the nature of their case and the availability of staff. If necessary, that officer will access legal assistance from the Union's Regional Solicitor but usually the professional advice of the casework team is most appropriate. See the regional personnel and their responsibilities.
Writing to the union for advice
If you intend to write to us for advice, the guidance link below will help you set out the details in the way that we find most useful. It also gives further advice about supporting documentation you should supply. See guidance.
Visiting the regional office
Most issues can be addressed without you having to visit the Regional Office but sometimes this will help with your case. However, please do not visit the office without first checking that this is necessary and without making an appointment so you can be sure that the necessary person is available.
